OUR MARKETS IN WORST EVER SCENARIO

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

MARKETS ARE IN PEAK OF ITS VOLATALITY.IT IS THE TIME TO KEEP OUR NERVES AND PASS THROUGH THE WORST PHASE.....
WHAT WE HAVE TO DO NOW AND WHAT ARE THE THINGS WE NEED TO AVOID NOW:
Dos and Don'ts of investing in stocks :
With the markets crashing, it is natural for you to be unnerved, but panicking will not help. Actually it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy good stocks with strong fundamentals, but be very careful while doing so.
Don't indulge in panic selling. Stay invested, it is time to buy stocks and not sell. Since very few people can predict market movement, NEVER try to time the market.
To be on the safe side, invest in mutual funds, and don't listen to 'experts' who mushroom all of a sudden and are eager to give you formidable advice. If you are unsure about your research and is not too comfortable with your own judgement, MFs are your best bet.
TO DO:
Invest, based on sound reasoning after taking into account all publicly available information and on fundamentals.
Give clear and unambiguous instructions to your broker / agent / depository participant.
Be vigilant in your transactions. Insist on a contract note for your transaction.
Scrutinise minutely both the transaction and the holding statements that you receive from your Depository Participant.
Keep copies of all your investment documentation.

DONT'S:
Don't deal with unregistered intermediaries.
Don't fall prey to promises of unrealistic returns.
Don't invest on the basis of hearsay and rumours; verify before investment.
Don't forget to take note of risks involved in the investment.
Don't be misled by rumours circulating in the market.
Don't be influenced into buying into fundamentally unsound companies (penny stocks) based on sudden spurts in trading volumes or prices or non-authentic favourable looking articles/stories.
Don't follow the herd or play on momentum - it could turn against you.
Don't be misled by so called 'hot tips.'
Don't try to time the market.
Don't hesitate to approach the proper authorities for redressal of your doubts/grievances.
Don't leave signed blank Delivery Instruction Slips of your demat account lying around carelessly or with anyone.
Do not sign blank Delivery Instruction Slips and keep them with Depository Participant or broker to save time. Remember your carelessness can be very dangerous.

LEARN WARREN BUFFET STYLE OF INVESTING

Saturday, September 27, 2008

Recently Warren Buffet invested 5 billion dollars in Goldman Sachs.Do you know why he invested when U.S is in a financial crisis?

Read to know the reason...

Warren Buffett practices what he preaches. His strategy to buy stocks whose prices have been driven down due to fear is very evident in his latest move. Wall Street is in the grip of unprecedented panic and stock prices have plummeted, even those of one of the world's most prestigious banks like Goldman.
"Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful," Buffett has often said. Buy when people are selling and sell when people are buying. His investment in Goldman Sachs stems directly from this investing principle of his.
Buffett's investment in Goldman not only boosted the bank's confidence, but also that of investors worldwide. Essentially, Buffett's investment is an endorsement of his faith in the stability of America's financial and banking system.

RULES TO BE FOLLOWED TO MAKE MONEY IN DAY TRADING

Friday, September 26, 2008

1. If stock market is trading in positive direction as compared to the previous day and one is short in a stock, than one can safely close the open position. The same is true other way also i.e. if one is long in a stock overnight and stock market is trading in positive as compared to previous close, than one can contemplate buying additional quantity of stock.
2. If stock market is trading in a negative direction than remember to go short in the stocks which are trading in negative side and do not go short in those stocks which are trading in positive direction.
3. Remember that one should not go by preconceived notions and an example of the same is that it is not necessary that a stock which is weak today during intraday trading might be weak tomorrow also and vice versa is also true.
4. One must monitor the overseas market because if US Markets have gone up overnight, than it is very high probability that Indian markets will open strong. One can check the rates of Indian ADR prices and can thus benefit in Indian stock market by virtue of reliable information. However one has to be careful when buying stocks as the general psychology of public is to buy when good news is there. Thus Research for Indian stocks is of utmost importance.
5. One can benefit being contrarians in day trading in share market.
6. Remember to use the stop loss efficiently while day trading.
7. One can remember the guru mantra of trading in liquid stocks i.e. stocks with high volume because it provides an easy entry and exit in stocks.
8. One can undertake the paper trading before testing the day trading in actuality. However remember that to make money in paper and making money in actuality are two different things as paper trading lacks the emotion aspect.
9. Trade with a constant volume and do not get exuberated by gains achieved.
10. As a new trader one should trade with quantity of stocks which is manageable. Initially make constant endeavor to keep the fear and greed under rein else you will have lot of tension.
